I have served as a Community Governor at a North Somerset School in the past and I feel privileged to now be a member of the Strawberry Line Federaton Governing Body. My duties include being a member of the curriculum committee.
I was a police officer for over 30 years, specialising in serious crime investigation and working in partnership with others to deliver safeguarding and child protection services to the communities of Somerset and North Somerset.
I have recently retired and having lived in Winscombe for many years I wanted to be involved within the community where I live. I am currently a trustee of a charity which supports education, helping children from disadvantaged communities in rural Nepal to realise their full potential. Following the devastating earthquake in 2014 we are now rebuilding a school with monies raised.
I also work within the voluntary sector including the National Trust. I enjoy travelling all over the world and have recently returned to Church bell-ringing after a long break.
