Welcome

On behalf of the children, staff and governors of Sandford Primary School, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all visitors to our website, whether you are an existing parent seeking the latest information or a prospective parent choosing a school for your child.

Our website is updated regularly with the latest school and federation news, calendar dates, newsletters, curriculum matters and children’s class pages and we hope that it provides an insight into our busy but very friendly school.

Sandford is a small village school situated in a beautiful rural setting at the foot of the Mendip hills and has served this close-knit community for over two hundred years. It has around 150 pupils arranged in five classes who are supported by a dedicated, experienced, highly skilled team of teachers and enthusiastic support staff. They strive to raise standards and promote a calm, purposeful but stimulating environment which makes learning exciting and enjoyable through a creative, innovative curriculum.

Set in a quiet location, Sandford offers plenty of space outdoors to learn and play, with a good sized  playground, a conservation area with pond and an adventure play area. Indoors, there are spacious, airy classrooms, the walls filled with vibrant, colourful displays of children’s art and writing.

Sandford has an outstanding academic reputation, as highlighted in the most recent Ofsted Inspection report and our results are invariably amongst the highest in North Somerset, preparing our children well for the next stage in their education. Also commended is the outstanding behaviour of the pupils as well as the strong leadership by the management team and governors.
