READING - TUESDAY AFTERNOON'S LESSON
This week I have given both Year 4 & Year 5 different pieces of writing to read:
Both of these texts are examples of Non-fiction and have been taken informative websites.
Read through the text appropriate for your year group and answer the questions on the next page. There are 7 questions for each and I have included the answers so that you mark your questions and send them to me on Class Dojo afterwards. Don't worry if you make mistakes, you could always write the correct answer above (in purple pen if you have one) to help see what you did wrong.
As an additional challenge, you could read through and complete the other year group's reading questions.
WRITING - THURSDAY MORNING'S LESSON
This week we will be planning and writing Viking sagas! Last term, you looked at 7 different stories from The Dragon’s Hoard: Stories from the Viking Sagas by Lari Don. We are now going to use our understanding of how these stories are constructed to plan and write our own version of a Viking saga, with a moral. For those who have forgotten what is a moral, it is the lesson about right and wrong to be learned from a story or an experience.
Before any piece of writing, it is important to plan what to include. To help with this, I have included a Story Mountain template for you to use. The information you write onto this will need to be included in your saga. You can also write additional details onto the sheet and include them where necessary. Once you have completed your planning sheet, you can write your first draft. I will go through this in detail during our Zoom lesson.
