Another week of fractions, but in a different way! This week, we'll be looking at how to find a fraction of an amount.
Tasks 1 & 2 are recap ones for things you hopefully already know from last year - if you feel confident, you don't need to do these ones.
Tasks 3, 4 & 5 gradually become a bit trickier, mainly because they also look at going the other way (you've got part of an amount, so find out the whole total).
The Challenge Task looks at finding fractions of amounts, but uses our normal style of Fluency, Reasoning & Problem Solving questions.
I've also uploaded a Fraction of Amounts puzzle. Cut out each of the triangles and see if you can match them up to form a different shape. There will be some that don't have an answer - these ones will be the outside edges. The answer is on the second page!
If you want a refresher (or don't want to watch the video - it's not White Rose this week!), our MONDAY MATHS GROUP will be going over how to find the fraction of an amount. [We don't have a Maths Group on Tuesday, as that's when Mr Robinson is going to be having a chat with you all.]
REMEMBER: D by the D, then T by the T ... divide by the denominator, then times by the top!
As always, there is a Countdown Challenge at the bottom of the page.
To boost your arithmetic, keep using TTRS, but this week, you've got a division mini golf game! Hopefully it works on your device - you don't need an account to use it.
