Week 1 - Adding and Subtracting Fractions
This week, we will be adding and subtracting fractions to count fractions and solve sums. Watch the videos for each task and then complete the sheets that go with it. There are powerpoints that go into more detail if needed.
Task 1 recaps how to count in fractions using number lines, these follow on from what you learnt before half term.
Tasks 2 & 3 gradually increase in difficulty as you add together various fractions with different numerators and denominators, remember that you only add the numerators whilst the denominators stay the same.
Task 4 & 5 similarly use subtraction with various fractions with different numerators and denominators. As with addition, only the numerators change whilst the denominators stay the same.
Task 6 puts together what you have practiced previously, having to add and subtract fractions.
For arithmetic, keep going on TTRS. I will be looking to see how well you have done!
