REMEMBRANCE DAY POPPIES

To commemorate Remembrance Day, Sandford KS2 pupils made 150 poppies out of red plastic cups and then they 'planted' them in the school garden.  The whole school then lined up on the playground and Mr Hall, Class 3 Teacher, read two acrostic poems about Remembrance Day and the sacrifices made by the servicemen and women in the World Wars.  The poems were written by Class 4 pupils, in groups, following a discussion about Remembrance Day and its meaning.
