School Crossing Patrol starts at Sandford Primary thanks to funding from Thatchers Foundation

Sandford Primary School welcomed Mrs Anne Thatcher, Trustee of Thatchers Foundation to see the new School Crossing Patrol service running on the first day of the new school term (Tuesday 5 September).

School Crossing Patrol Mrs Paula Williams will now be in attendance from 8.30am to 9.00am every morning and again at 3.10pm to 3.40pm to help families cross the road outside the school safely.  Thatchers Foundation will fund the vital post for the next year.

Quote from Mrs Lin Williams, Executive Head of Sandford School:

'We are delighted that the Thatchers Foundation has sponsored what is effectively a safer road crossing facility to support families walking to Sandford School.'

Quote from Mrs Anne Thatcher, Trustee of Thatchers:

'We are pleased to be able to support the school as we have been living and working here for four generations and many Thatchers cider staff and families live locally too, so this is one way of saying thank you and giving something back to the community'.
