This term we would like your child to focus on 'building 9 and 10'. This will involve counting back and forth from these numbers, as well as representing these amounts in various ways. It is also very useful in encouraging your child to practice their ability to subitise amounts and understand the composition of these numbers. Please see the activities attached to support this area of learning. These are specifically designed as practical activities which is much more beneficial at this stage in your child's mathematical learning, as they require visual representations to really understand number.
