Communication & Language
This is a really important part of the Early Years Foundation Stage as speaking and listening supports reading and writing. Try these activities:
Play the memory game "I'm going to the Moon" with your child. The first person starts by saying "I'm going to the Moon and I'm taking..." and then they name 2 things e.g. my coat and scarf. The next person repeats the stem sentence and the items and adds 2 of their own. Keep going and see how many you can remember. It's a really good way to develop listening and speaking skills.
Use house hold objects or toys to make a space craft or alien planet and support your child to make up a story based on their space craft or world. As they tell the story you can write it down for them so it can be retold later.
