At Sandford Primary School we recognise that there are a number of pupils whom specialist intervention and support may be required under our provision of Special Educational Needs and Disability. We have a SEN&D co-ordinator and Governing committee who ensure and monitor this provision.
Please see our Special Educational Needs and Disability Policy in the 'Policies' section.
All local maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school.
At Sandford Primary School, we aim to support all children in accessing the curriculum fully. We work with a range of outside agencies, including Speech & Language, Occupational Therapists, Educational Psychologists and many more.
Our Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator is Mrs Victoria Sheppard, who is also a class teacher. Our Special Needs Governor is Mrs Belinda Hancock. Please do not hesitate in contacting the SENCO for any further information. Please see below for further support for parents and carers.
