The Battle of Hastings and The Bayeux Tapestry

This week, we are going to be looking at a very important date in British history, 1066! During this year, there was a lot of change in Britain and this also led to the end of the Anglo-Saxon rule! The invasion of William the Conqueror, and his subsequent crowning, changed the history of Britain forever.

This famous battle was recorded in a rather incredible way; through the weaving of an enormous tapestry that tells the story leading up to the battle, the battle and the aftermath.

Your tasks today are;

1. Find out more about the Battle of Hastings by completing the reading comprehension below.

2. Research some fantastic facts about the Battle of Hastings!
